a postcard from scotland

September 16, 2011

Hello from Scotland!*

I’m on my second dram of whiskey at some wee pub and I am LOVING it here. No, it’s not the booze talking (Shhh. Stop talking, booze). This place is ridiculously enchanting, what with its mist and mountains, waterfalls and whiskey, castles everywhere and rainbows every day (EVEN DOUBLE RAINBOWS!!!). If there is a heaven, I imagine it looks something like Scotland (with better food and minus the highland midges).

Wish you were here.

Love,ย J.

* Written sometime last week. More photos to come soon. Until then… happy weekend, folks!

Wow! Just wow! From now on, when I read anything set in Scotland and they talk about “fields of heather” I will think of that photo of the hillside. Also, I didn’t know it was possible, but somehow you have made mushrooms absolutely adorable and heart melting in the toadstool photo. Hurray for Scotland!

That toadstool looks like it came right out of Alice in Wonderland! I am so happy that you are having what seems to be an AMAZING time. You make me want to travel…a little. If only there was no planning, organizing, packing and traveling to get there. It looks like magic.
