lately

i’ve been
- loving my new boden saffron coat (that matches the trees this time of year)
- staying up far too late and getting up way too early
- knitting the blanket that i started for wren two years ago
- looking for work, which is a full-time job
- in a state of shock over the us elections
- craving these olives
- hooked on the new season of the walking dead and black mirror (bone-chilling good)
- reading anne dillard’s book the abundance (one book to go to reach my goal)
- listening to bon iver’s new album (i’ve been waiting five years for this)
- not exercising enough (or at all)
- baking healthy treats for wren
- eating my weight in marmite popcorn
- sleepy (like autumn)
- meditating every day
- thinking i should drink more hot chocolate
- wishing Obama could be president forever
- noticing how the light travels on my bed and the wall by the window at the top of the landing and the way it dances on the kitchen floor, shadows of the leaves blowing on the tree outside

I’ve been:
1) crocheting again which I don’t do during the summer
2) looking for pretty new turtlenecks
3) thinking about getting the new Leonard Cohen cd
4) trying to walk at both breaks and at lunchtime on work days.
5) grateful for my family
6) keeping my fingers crossed for Nov 8th. Hoping logic will win out over lunacy
7) hoping you find the perfect job
8) spending waaaaaaaaaay too much time on the computer
9) feeling pretty darn good 🙂

I’ve been working on number 16 for quite a while. How I love President Obama. I am in mourning that he and flotus are going away. Even before the election was decided, I was just feeling such sadness and now it’s ever so much more so. The comparison is stark.
