day 6 – it’s a thing
The clock is about to strike midnight and in five minutes, today will have turned into tomorrow and I’m already behind schedule on this blogging lark so this is going to be a short one.
I thought of this post as I was walking home this evening and saw two girls do a selfie with that classic selfie pout. And I kind of wanted to judge them a little bit but then I thought… people must be really sick of always seeing my feet in photos. I mean, just look at my Instagram feed – it is positively littered with photos of my bloody feet (and sometimes, even, my twenty ten funky toes).
What can I say? We all have a thing for something. My thing is taking pictures of my feet. I can’t tell you why, really– it’s just something that I do. If I were to put a spiritual twist on it or try to give it meaning, I’d venture to say that it’s a grounding ritual of sorts, a way to stop in one place and notice what’s around me (or underfoot, as it were).
It’s a way of saying “I was here”. And when I look at these pictures, taken over the past year, it appears my feet have taken me many places.
I think it’s a cool twist on the selfie … are yours more often painted or naked?
Cute toes! xo
I love these feet snaps! esp the two people feet with no shoes! (where is that? it looks exotic haha)
I do that too. Perhaps us feet photographers should form a club of some sort 😉
A new trend of feet selfies is exactly what we need to put an end to all the duck faces we’ve been seeing… love it!
you are the only person i know that has twenty funky toes, i only have ten. that makes you twice as awesome as anyone else i know.
we need to catch up. i miss your face (and your feet)
I take lots of photos of my feet too, and I always think of that line from “Lost in Translation” where Scarlett Johansen rolls her eyes at herself for taking photos of her feet. But still, can’t help doing it, still think it’s cool.
