summer sabbatical
summer is here and the serpentine waits for me to swim in it each morning and it makes me feel like i’m lolita or some caracter from a sofia ford coppola movie and i can’t quite explain why though i think it has something to do with the red nail polish and the green water. and the grass is dry and high enough to hide and read a book, and the entire city smells of english roses.
summer rarely comes in these parts so while it’s here, i’m going to soak it up and quiet the voice in my head that says i should be writing more. it says a lot of things that voice and i intend to tame it over the coming months.
so i’m going to make like a pupa and hopefully emerge at the end of the season, with wings.
see you on the flip side, peeps.
xo
Enjoy!

Good for you for knowing “how to take the break. I struggle with that…I would like to take the break to enjoy but also to do more creative writing and working on other projects…you the second on who has made the break this week…so maybe I’ll be next.
Enjoy your time away…
“make hay (or whatever it is you do) while the sun shines”- anything else would be.. most inappropriate!
I have been thinking about you, so I am glad you checked in. I tend to worry. Have a wonderful sabbatical. Just remember to keep a list of all those books you are reading while hiding in the tall grass. xoxo
Enjoy the summer! I know the feeling…it passes too quickly here in upstate NY as well……
Your description of summer in the city has set me dreaming.
