the light
these days
comes in slow
and stretches up the walls
washing the night away
making long shadows
and straight lines
out of books and shirts
and even
the tomato plant on the window sill
until everything
including myself
is bathed
in what can only be described as
a godly glow
all the dust suspends in speckles
like glitter
and i can’t help but feel
like spring is casting a spell
and i,
my love,
am enchanted
i am stretching with the light
shaking the winter out of my bones
and that hard knot
between my shoulder blades
is slowly softening
in preparation for

P.S. Thank you for all your encouraging comments on my last post. I am in the process of revamping my resume so that it look less “1950s secretary” and more “kick ass writer” and then I’m sending it out into the Universe. As my friend Oli likes to say: “You don’t know until you go”. Never a truer word spoken.

Oh, the light is intoxicating right now isn’t it? And the sky! The big blue never-ending sky. Thank you for your words and photos…so. beautiful.
Your photographs never fail to leave me breathless and inspired to believe I can – and MUST – turn my eye to the beauty hanging out in my world.
But what is calling me out of my longtime lurking status is a question: how many toothbrushes do you two use? Their “bouquet” caught my eye …
you are a lyrical, poetic genius.
GO ON ABOUT IT woman. go on about it.
signed,
your number one fan.
