a little sabbatical
It’s official, friends! I’m flying to London on June 21st, in perfect timing with the start of a new season. The best season! Swimming and sun and bbq and beer season! EXCITED doesn’t even begin to cover how I feel these days. With a side of overwhelm naturally because, you know, I have 30-something days to renew my driver’s license, buy medical insurance, make address changes, cancel hydro, clear my inbox, sell this desktop, buy a mac laptop, back up everything, write an official resignation letter, go to the dentist, get a check up, decide what stays and what goes, sell what goes, pack & store what stays, buy luggage and do the other 277 things on my list. My friend Roma says that in the end, if I chucked everything to the curb and went to the airport with nothing but my passport and the socks on my feet, I’d still be OK. So really, anything that I do above and beyond that is a bonus!
Still, I’d like to tackle most of the things on that list (and at least be wearing a pair of knickers upon airport arrival), which means that something’s gotta give so I’ve decided to take a little blogging sabbatical. I may post intermittently before I leave but I’m not pressuring myself into it. In the meantime, you can find me over at Gypsy Girl’s Guide today, where I tell you what I am going to miss about Montreal and what I look forward to in London. How very à propos! And people, I simply CANNOT WAIT to write to you from across the pond. I reckon I’ll be infused with fresh inspiration in the photography and writing department and you’ll be all “Yeah, Yeah. We get it. You live in London! Stop showing off!”
You kids be good while I’m away. Remember to smile as much as you possibly can (you wear it well). And floss. It’s super important. I can’t emphasize that enough.
With love,
J.
Je ne sais pas si tu en as besoin car tu dois avoir l’impression d’avoir des ailes mais bon courage pour toutes les formalités administratives (je déteste ça!!). Et vive la correspondance qui te laisse 1 heure à perdre gare du nord!
thanks for the flossing *nudge*. (sigh)
Best of luck with your month of getting ready! I’m so excited for you for this! I’ve always wanted to move overseas, but haven’t yet. Maybe your journey will inspire me (after all, the fiance already has a British Passport, so that would cut down on red tape!)
But but but, that’s a WHOLE MONTH and more! (and I’m sure you will fill it up completely and write about it all later, so go! go! go!! )
safe and happy travels gypsy girl. hope all goes wonderfully
It feels like forever since I left a message here – not to say I haven’t been visiting. 🙂
