five senses friday

November 12, 2010

Tasting:

Espresso at work again. I put myself on quite the tight budget a few weeks back, which entailed avoiding the café downstairs in favor of tea. However the cheeky Britisth Boy, who knows that I love coffee more than almost anything, placed a call yesterday and had a tab set up for me. As my friend Roma said, who was an accomplice in the whole thing, “he couldn’t stand idly by while you sent yourself to the coffee poorhouse and he wanted to do something about it“. The man sure does know the way to this girl’s heart.

Smelling:

Tar. It seems everyone and their mother is having their roof tarred before the first snow fall. I quite like the smell of tar in small doses as it always reminds me of the school yard (they repaved the ground one year when I was 6 or so and then painted bright yellow and white lines on the pavement for basket ball and hopscotch, capture the flag and kickball.)

Seeing:

The sun rise up an hour earlier in the morning (it has been particularly cheerful this week).

Feeling:

Butterflies in my stomach.

Hearing:

Soundvenue’s High 5 music picks for the week. I dig the Scandivanians’ taste in music, fashion and design.

What have you been up to this week?

Bon weekend les amis.

That is sooooooooooooooo romantic and thoughtful. He is a great planner and a really good sneaky one too. Yay, you’ve got your coffee again.

And yes the sunrises have been spectacular this week. What a nice way to begin our days.

That’s so sweet! I’m not a coffee drinker, but I just might steal this idea as a treat for my fiance, who loves his coffee. 🙂
