live, love & laugh
“i used to wait for a sign, she said, before i did anything. then one night i had a dream & an angel in black tights came to me & said, you can start any time now, & then i asked is this a sign? & the angel started laughing & i woke up. now, i think the whole world is filled with signs, but if there’s no laughter, i know they’re not for me.” – story people
ask anyone who knows me and they’ll tell you i love to laugh. i mean, i woke myself up twice last night in a fit of giggles, as can be attested by the lovely leonie, who traveled quite the distance to come visit me this weekend and was probably wondering what the hell was so funny. if only i could remember the context… perhaps i was being given the answer to life, the universe and everything. alas…
the one thing i do know for certain, however, is that i feel particularly lucky for all the friends i’ve made in blogland over the years. thank you to all those who have come into my life and enriched it in some way. perhaps therein lies all the answers i’ll ever need. in love, in laughter, in friendship.
on that note, i am very much looking forward to a weekend of thrift shopping, markets, sharing stories in my favorite cafés, good food, wine, checking out the scene at the jazz festival… and, most likely, more giggles.
what are your plans this weekend?
the friends that can make you laugh are a perfect gift.
You two lovelies have a fabulous time 🙂
*got your cd – going to take a listen!
I love that quote! And the pic is very sweet.
I’m going to visit Portland this weekend! Never been. I’m totally psyched!
Laughing with friends is really the best! My weekend has some of that in the plan. I hope your weekend is fabulous!
A girl after my own giggly heart.
My weekend is wide open and I am going to be spontaneous. (Planned spontaneity…)
we’re becoming Californians, eep! xoxo
Lovey- on a buying trip/ taking kids to visit grandpa weekend. Have found lots of great junk. Happily anticipating THE CD!!! Laughter is essential! Even more than my friends, my kids can make me laugh so hard I do pee my pants. Not kidding. It happened the other night during dinner. I fell off my chair too. And cried. It feels so darn good to laugh that hard! Cheers to a giggly weekend! xox – J
Well… thanks to the G20 Summit I don’t have to work (I live in Toronto). Mixed blessing as I don’t get paid either. Argh/Don’t get me started… However, since I love to have my weekends free I plan on doing battle with a load of clutter and my cd burner (stay tuned), playing some new toonage (yay!) real loud and hopefully finding loads to giggle about along the way. Add to that a nice long walk with my camera and by Sunday this girl will be smiling.
Have a happy gigglefest!!!
I’m at the seaside for the moment … the weather is excellent and I’m in the mood for lots of giggles. 🙂
i don’t know what i love more: that you laugh in your sleep or that you and leonie are painting the town with rainbows together.
so happy to be one of those friends, virtually and for reals.
xxxx
Oh!! you like jazz too! cool!!!
I love jazz:)
Hope you have received my CD by now. There is a track of Angus & Julia Stone in it, so I smiled when I saw your latest addition to your music blog 😉
