i’m just not that into you

January 28, 2009

Dear Winter,

I think we need to take a break.  It’s not you, it’s me. Actually, it is you.  You’re all blue skies and fluff one day and the next, you’re a cold hearted bitch who’s shit I have to take by the shovel load.  I know you’re not going to change for me.  I know you’re going to stick around for as long as it damn well pleases you but there’s only so much a girl can take before she snaps and has to look elsewhere.  Before she starts digging through the archives and looking at old photos of past lovers – spring, summer and fall.

I’m sorry winter, I’m trying my best to love you but you don’t make it easy.  So until you soften your grip and stop biting and melt some of that cruel exterior, I need to take a break from you.  Let me put it in a way that you’ll understand… I’m just not that into you.  I hope you’ll forgive me for looking elsewhere.

Yours truly,

I’m still in denial that I can make friends with winter, as evidenced by my post today lol

    Beautiful images though!

I hear you sister! Unless you’re actually out there enjoying an awesome winter activity, there’s not that much fun to the rest of it. It’s the getting to and from work everyday, the freezing (even indoors) and all the heavy clothing, but luckily I don’t have to deal with the shoveling though:)

I must say, I have a crush on Summer as well, but my true love is Autumn.

Beautiful photos (the colors in the third one down makes it my fave in this set). Nice accompaniment with the words, too. Kudos.

I hear ya! I’ve tried to like winter – skating, skiing, sleigh rides. But, I hate it. My idea of a winter’s “sport” is sitting in front of the fire with a good book. So, winter, you can just bite me, bitch.

Invitation…to come visit Summer in South Africa…
    accommodation and tours = free…
    just imagine…

    a cold glass of wine…
    sitting between wineyards…
    the sun shining high…
all you have to do is close your eyes…
    and breath it all in…

    any time! xx

YUP! My arms ache at this very moment from shoveling my car out and the porch. Can I tell you I’m so looking forward to Cuba now. Just two more days, just two more…..

I not only want to break up with winter, but I want a full on restraining order. This winter has seemed abusively cold and nasty this year.

(Of course, if we get some 2 foot snow here in Nashville, complete with snow days from work, I’ll be all, “Take me back, lover! I was all wrong about you! I lurve you!”)
