friday night, 5 girls, 7 bottles of wine, 1 silly photo shoot, ’nuff said
Bottle 1: How lovely. A group of friends getting together for dinner. Isn’t that sweet?
Bottle 2: The giggles begin…
Bottle 3: … and they don’t stop for hours. We’re like a little laughter factory, pumping out one giggle after another.
Bottles 4&5: This is the part when we take turns directing the shoot and role playing. Here, we’re supposed to act nerdy. Not too sure what your interpretation of geeky is but I think we fall short.
Work it, work it! Every woman has an inner tigress (although mine looks a little scary).
Time to simmer down and get serious (that lasts for about 10 seconds).
… and we’re pouting. We’re pouting, people. Put your sad faces on.
On fait la vague! Despite all evidence to the contrary, this is supposed to be a wave. Obviously gone bad. Sheesh! You’d think we’ve never seen a wave in our lifetime.
Bottle 6: This shit is off the hook.
Bottle 7: Okay, that’s just plain immature. Certainly not acting like the 30-somethings we’re supposed to be. Perhaps we should have stopped at bottle six?
Whoever you are, wherever you are, I hope you have women in your life who are prepared to act silly with you. I hope you take time to get together every couple months, a night just for yourselves, away from the children, the husbands, boyfriends, careers, to-do lists and troubles… a night when you can be playful, act like a total ass, sit around the table, share a meal, share your truths, share bits of yourself, knowing that you are loved no matter what. If you’re lucky, your family is part of that group (both my sisters and cousin are in these photos).
And if you’re really lucky, you have friends who understand why you need to post these photos on your blog. To prove the point that no matter how old you are, sometimes you just need to act a fool.

Looks like a great time. Mike goes away for the week on Tuesday and I’m having my girlfriends (the ones I went to Florida with last year, including my sister) here for a night that I hope is half as silly and fun as this one you’ve just had. Honestly, you are right. I don’t know what I’d do without the women in my life.

I am so lucky to have you girls in my life! After all these years, everything is the same. I had such a good time on this Friday night. It was a fantastic dinner with fantastic girls! I had a big headache on Saturday morning but it was worth it. :-))))) Hope we will see each other again very soon. I love the pictures! I still don’t know which one I’ll choose to put in the photo frame you gave me Jeanine….
if you can’t act like a total ass with your best girls…what’s the point? and here’s the best part…no matter how old you get it will still be the same. and WE’VE got the daughters to drive us home!!!!
Those are fabulous photos. Great girlfriends who aren’t afraid to let loose every once in awhile are an absolute must. I am sure all the laughter has added years to your life.
