day 23 – we interrupt our regular scheduled programming

November 23, 2008

football2

If you were a fly on my wall, this is what you would see this evening.

Me
Couch
Beer
Chips
Television
Grey Cup
Montreal vs Calgary
Second Quarter
10-3 Montreal
Me
Screaming
Go-Go-Go
As Taylor
Runs down
The field

Ordinarily, I probably wouldn’t even watch the game, but my sister works for the Alouettes and we are hosting the Grey Cup this year, so I’m taking a special interest.  To my own surprise, my eyes are now glued to the screen and I can’t seem to pull away.  So… Go Als! is all I have to say this evening, folks!

Back to our regular scheduled programming tomorrow, when we will discuss Pet Peeves!

Cheers!

That is one sad update. I was so hoping since the Al’s were playing at home that they’d win. Time to look at the bright side. At least they made it to the Grey Cup. At least we had good weather for the whole weekend leading up to Grey Cup even though it was dang cold. At least the Stad was filled. Etc. Etc.

I’m not a football fan, not really much for watching any type of sports, but I understand how one can get caught up in the excitement. More than 10 years ago we had a mini vacation in Boston and went to Fenway Park to see a ball game. I didn’t know who was playing, didn’t care, by my God, the excitement bordering on frenzy was contagious. I had a ball (pun intended) Ha ha. Groan.

Thanks for the shout out and the encouragement. It was a tough lost and it’s hard to be back at work, but it was also a great experience to host the Grey Cup and be able to play in it. Maybe next year we can win on their turf…

yeah … driving back from okotoks through calgary, we experienced a mess of crazy stupid drivers speeding and cutting us off ~ figured out later they were off to their grey cup parties … on the upside, once we got back to edmonton, we did a late night sushi dinner and the place was so beautifully empty, was lovely : ) tee hee

sorry your team lost hon .. i have no loyalty to calgary obviously since they tend to be our rivals, lol
