day 21 – la vie

circus tent

It’s Friday night and I just got back from seeing the most AMAZING live show with my cousin Amy.  La Vie is a convergence of art forms.  It is acrobatics, cabaret, burlesque, music, dance, comedy and theater all wrapped into one magical package.

“La Vie takes place in a purgatory of the imagination, where the sinners try to tumble, juggle, climb, fly, sing or joke their way out of hell. A diabolical master of ceremonies presides over this twisted Judgment Day, and not even the audience is safe as he weighs their souls in his unforgiving hands. It is 90 minutes of the unexpected, the hysterical and the surprisingly moving.”

It made me feel like a kid at the circus.  I do believe my mouth was wide open in awe for the full duration of the performance.  I don’t know if it’s an association with childhood memories or perhaps I was a gypsy in a travelling circus in a past life, but, as they say in French “c’est venu me chercher“… it touched me.  It left me completely satisfied and craving more all at once.  It was LIFE!

Sounds so fascinating and I’m glad you got to share it with Amy.

Oh wow, when I read things like this I so envy you for living in Montreal with all that good stuff to do. Here in N.S. we got hammered with over a foot of snow overnight, so are having a stay at home day whether we like it or not. Fortunately, we like it!

I didn’t get a chance to post to your your travel challenge, so am saying now that Italy and Tuscany, as well as Greece would be my choice. Actually, I can visualize you in Greece very easily (maybe even with a Greek God. Yum.)

Sounds really nice, where did it take place? How was the attendance?
