I know there is reason to be cynical about voting because of the way the past couple elections have gone (nuff said) and many think what’s the point of voting, it’s all rigged anyways and my vote doesn’t count.  Well, I’ll tell you one thing for certain, if you don’t vote you are making sure that your vote doesn’t count, that your voice doesn’t matter.  So take a few minutes this election to step up and speak up.  You can help fuel change.

Now if you are an American citizen living abroad, comme moi, you too can vote for Obama.  Oops!  Did I say that out loud?  All I’m saying is that it’s not because you live in this amazing country that you should give up your right to vote in the US, eh!  After all, what happens in the States, doesn’t stay in the States.  It affects us up here, over there, everywhere.  So please, use that right, help make a shift.  It’s easy as 1-2-3 & A-B-C.  Just go here to register http://www.votefromabroad.org/ and do it quickly because the deadline is… um…. today in some states.  Vite, vite, vaya, vaya.

And all you fellow Canadians, I beg of you, let us not allow Mr. douchebag Harper to win a majority this election.  It’s bad enough that we elected him once. We need to pull together to prevent this from happening again.

Last month, we proved that if we join forces, we can create change.  Thousands of Canadians signed a petition to protest a consortium of television networks that refused to let Elizabeth May participate in the nationally televised debates.  The protest read: “Tell the network executives who control the leaders’ debates that Four Men in Dark Suits is last year’s show. The new season demands a vivid splash of Green.” And we won.  Last night was the first time in Canadian history that a Green Party leader was invited to join a debate on equal footing as other mainstream party leaders.  And E-May kicked ass.

So why not go Green this year? And if you’re still swaying and you don’t know which way to go, try voting strategically (by splitting our votes the conservatives may end up in power and worse with a majority).  For more info, check out this website.
